What are Points?

Every action in Costa Code consumes Points. Points are our common currency across models, context sizes, and tiers — making it simple to compare usage and stay within your plan. Points ensure a fair balance between:
  • Model cost (larger / more capable models consume more points)
  • Context size (longer prompts use more points)

Point Pricing

Points scale with the model tier and the you use. With each request, you can trade-off between speed, cost, and capability.

We cap usable context at 200k tokens across all models for consistency.
Tokens are not the exact same from model to model, which can affect context length.In most cases, they vary by only a small amount (0-5%).

Session Attributes

Points are tied directly to your sessions and pricing tier: For example, the Costa Max plan offers:
  • Points per session: 2000
  • Sessions per month: 100
When you start a new session, you get a fresh points allowance.
When you run out of points mid-session, you can:
  • Wait for your next session
  • Switch model to costa/free
  • Upgrade to a higher tier
